Ever feel like you're different?

different: odd, not the same,strange
Last week I went to Idaho. It felt awkward! My friends were the same, and treated me the same, but other than that it felt like Rexburg had simply moved on. Even mom's friend's were different with me than before.
But I knew someone -brothers actually- that were even more different than me. They proved that, no matter how odd you are, your still someone's hero.
Gabe and Zeke were racing across the street a few months ago, and Gabe had won. Zeke stood in the street, panting. Suddenly throughout the neighborhood, all that could be heard was Gabe yelling "ZEKE!" He ran and shoved Zeke from the street. The charging car had broken Gabe's leg, and knocked him out. Zeke only suffered a broken arm from his brother's quick thinking. With Gabe unconscious, Zeke feared Gabe was dead.
Gabe was Zeke's hero. How cool to have a hero, but for that hero to be your brother? Now THAT'S different & AWESOME!!! I know that this might not make sense (and I don't know how to tie it together)...but I now have a new definition for different...
different: not the same, special, unique

WICKED good time!

Sorry its taken me so long to get this post up, but Spring Break was a wicked good time! We did a little of everything. We even went up to Leavenworth & down to Pendleton. But best of all, to celebrate the winding-up of Spring Break, I went to Portland to spend time with my Dad. We went to "Wicked" (the Broadway musical) along with my grandparents. It was AWESOME!!! It's the point of view (or other side of the story) of the witches of Oz. The "wicked" witch's name is Elphaba. She's not really wicked, that's just how she's made out to appear by other characters in the story, all because she's different from them. Galinda (aka Glinda of Dorothy's OZ) wasn't always perfectly good either. Galinda & Elphaba were actually friends, though it didn't always seem to be so.

Really, the play shows that things aren't always what they seem, or always as people say they are. I LOVED the musical! And the special effects were AMAZING! The soundtrack is the best ever! I am SO glad I got to go! If you ever get the chance to see the musical, do yourself the favor and GO. My mom says not to bother with the book. My grandma also says the book's not appropriate. They both say that the musical is A-OK though, so GO SEE IT! I'm sad that Spring Break flew by so quickly, and now I'm looking SOOO forward to Summer (especially now with WASL going on!). Hope your Spring Break adventures were fun too, and that your week goes well.

ARRG MATEY, PLUNDERED TREASURE AHOY!

So we did it, my mom and I crashed 2 different Goodwill stores (personally, Pasco is my favorite-cleaner, better quality stuff, and more to choose from than the Richland store)! After working both stores over and digging through to the bottom of 2 GINORMOUS piles of jeans, we accomplished our mission and then some.

I walked out of there with 8 new pairs of pants (7 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of cargo pants, & 2 belts-1 spankin' brand new one even!): we're not big on name brands at my house, but if we find good ones for cheap then its icing on the cake-and let me tell ya, my icing was a few pairs of Calvin Klein (mom says they're built real well), a pair of Diesel, a pair of Silver (another of my mom's fav kinds since they're supposed to last forever), a pair of Arizonas, and a pair of Lucky Dungarees (mom said they're practically indestrucible). My cargos are Old Navy...all in all, not shabby.
I also came away with two BRAND NEW Converse One Star dresses! (Mom says they're "overstock" from Target): the black silky one is fun and feels cool, the navy one is what my mom calls a jumper, so I'll have to layer with it. Both go past my knees so I LOVE that they're modest and AREN'T PINK!
~
Mom said we got a steal! All that for less than the price of one pair of jeans if we'd bought them at the mall. Now I understand better why mom doesn't like to go to the mall very often. So, since we saved tons of money and none of my jeans will be immodest now, let's just say that my dad is very very HAPPY with us!

BYE BYE BIRDIE!

...we're glad to see you go! So my dad told me the other day that all my jeans HAD TO GO! Something about them being paint jeans---I was thinking that meant they were scrubby, but my mom explained that meant they were immodest cause they were fitting a bit snug. So, my mom & I are off to goodwill! I can't wait, cause I LOVE Goodwill! My mom always finds the cutest things for me, and we ALWAYS save money! Its a shame that some people never get to fully enjoy their clothes before they grow out of them, but then again I'm grateful they still have some wearing to be done! Hope your weekend is peachy...I'll let you know of our great treasure-finds. XOXO

New Pix!

So, my mom just went through and got these ready to go. Even though it was a chilly evening, we still had fun! What do you think?
